Rose, Robert, The West Indian of Colour, or the Bard of Colour (fl. 1840-1849): Verses

77 leaves (and signs of one torn out) of paper, unlined and unnumbered, 11 x 18.5cms. The first 34 leaves are written on both sides, mostly in ink, but with some pencil notes; the rest are blank. The endpaper is blank.

14v in pencil: I hope you're satisfied with this here dose ... Robert Rose.

16v in ink: To send my Book to H. Ainsworth &c & others previous to sending to newspapers which will be more cautious in their opinions after having had those of the first-raters.

34r in pencil: The Piece to the Countess of Blessington | [34 v ] to be in the pages of the Keeps...

(Lady Blessington edited the Keepsake 1841-50.)
