Wolcot, John (Peter Pindar, pseud) (1738-1819): Truro Hall. Saundry Kempe and Mally Treloure. Two poems, preceded by transcripts of three letters.

Notebook, with marbled paper cover, 17.5 x 12 cms.

Inside cover, in writing like that of text: Truro, Febry 23 d 1779

Sixteen unnumbered leaves of paper and the remains of eleven others which have been roughly torn out and which have had writing on them.

1r Letter from Mr. Buckland, Overseer to Mr. Wolcot, dated Truro, 27th Nov. 1778. Mr. Wolcot warned of meeting to draw for apprentices.
1v Mr. Wolcot's answer.

2r Mr. Wolcot to Mr. Rosewarne, dated Helston, 4th Jan. 1779 saying that R. has alleged that W, has 'fixed a Nick-name on Mr. Thos. Warren of Truro'. [See D.N.B. for W's quarrel with Mayor & Corporation of Truro].

At the end of the poem is written, in different ink but perhaps in the same hand, 'Penzance Cornalll) 1786 [?]'
