R.B. May be Robert Broadley, son of Peter Broadley of Southwark, Surrey,
gent., of St. John's College, Oxford. Matric. 1 July 1794 aged 17, B.A. 1798,
M.A. 1819 (Foster: Alumni 1887).
Peter Broadley was patron of the living of Tooting Graveney in the Hundred
of Brixton from 1801-1812 and presented his son Robert in 1805. In the same
year Robert exchanged this living for one in Devon. Robert Broadley and his
wife Ann transferred their interest in the advowson in 1820. (Manning and
Bray, Surrey, v.3).
Clergy List: Robert Broadley, M.A., was Rector of Bridport and Cattistock,
Devon, from 1829 to 1851. Patron Earl of Ilchester.
